Roosevelt After School Strings Program (RASP)
What is RAsP?
The Roosevelt After-School Strings Program (RASP) offers students the chance to learn from professional orchestral musicians, participate in advanced ensemble playing, and connect with other passionate young musicians from the Cedar Rapids metro area. This program is completely tuition-free and does not require an audition.
Who can Participate?
Open to RCCBA Orchestra students and 6th–8th grade Orchestra students from schools across the Cedar Rapids area.
Please note that instruments are not provided by RCCBA or Orchestra Iowa. Families are responsible for renting or providing their own.
When is Rasp?
RASP currently meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:15–5:15 p.m. during the school year. They meet at the RCCBA Band/Orchestra Room (300 13th St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA)
What does it cost?
RASP is 100% free (limited to 20 students) to participate in. Students will need to provide or rent their own string instrument as they are not provided by RCCBA or Orchestra Iowa School.
