Music Together®
Music Together® is a program designed to help parents nurture their child’s musical growth. It provides developmentally-appropriate music and movement instruction to children from birth to 5 years old, as well as their parents or caregivers. The Music Together® approach encourages early child development, understanding and response through direct musical experiences.

Meet Amy Maurer
Amy Maurer, MT-BC, is a graduate of Wartburg College with a Bachelors of Music Education and Music Therapy with an emphasis in clarinet. She completed her music therapy internship at the Kardon Institute for Arts Therapy in Philadelphia, PA where she worked with clients of varying ability ranging from age 3-100. Amy earned her music therapy board certification in August 2008.
Amy is also a registered Music Together® teacher, having completed her training in July 2009. Amy is currently teaching mixed age classes and has previously taught Generations® classes through Music Together.
Amy created and teaches the Symphony Kids program that brings music experiences to area daycares and preschools.
Meet Carly Schieffer
Carly is our Music Together instructor. She currently serves as adjunct faculty at Mount Mercy University, serves as the conference chair for the IMEA professional development conference, maintains a private music studio, and leads Music Together classes.
Prior to these appointments she taught elementary general music for nine years in a variety of school settings including overseas. She received a Bachelors of Music Education from Iowa State University and a Masters of Arts in Music Education with a Kodály emphasis at the University of St. Thomas. She holds a mastery certificate in Kodály and has also taken courses in Dalcroze, Orff Level I, and Music Together.
Carly and her husband, Michael, have one son, two daughters, and are licensed foster parents.
