Oboe

Based out of Coralville, IA LaBarrin Wallace is a freelance oboist, reedmaker and teacher.  LaBarrin is originally from Niceville, FL where he first fell in love with the oboe and decided he would make a career out of performing and teaching. LaBarrin currently plays 2nd Oboe and English Horn in the Ottumwa Symphony and subs with regional groups across Southeast Iowa

including Orchestra Iowa, Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, and the Dubuque Symphony. He holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Pensacola State College, Bachelors of Arts in Oboe Performance and a Masters of Arts in Oboe Performance from the University of Iowa. His primary teachers include Matt Fossa, Alice Biggar, Dr. Eric Ohlsson and Dr. Courtney Miller. In his spare time, LaBarrin enjoys spending time with friends, making charcuterie boards and going to art museums.
